Ruth A. Thomson

Ruth A. Thomson, 79, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 12:10 a.m. at her home.

Mrs. Thomson had been a factory worker, cook, waitress, bartender and Herald-Press carrier. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose and was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Post 7 Auxiliary.

She was born Jan. 26, 1937, in Little Rock, AR, to Lancy and Lessie Brown Arivett.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Boardman, of Huntington, and Kathie (Kenny) Clark, of Pierceton; a son, Ron (Vickie) King, of Liberty Mills; a brother, Darrel Arivett, of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Kathie (Bob) Frederick and Donna Robbins, both of Huntington, and Nel Rogers, of Hartford City; 10 grandchildren, Ron King, Scott King, Brian Clark, Chris (Mika) Clark, Travis (Stephanie) Boardman, Rashell (Eric) Stockman, Regina Ott, Heather Addair, Tiffani King and Stephanie (Travis) Cline; and 23 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., with calling starting at 10 a.m., at the Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester.
