Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Richardson, 72, of La Mesa, CA, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in LaMesa.

Mrs. Richardson had lived in the LaMesa area for more than 60 years and attended Helix High School and San Diego State University. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 30 years, serving in every chapter office. She also served on the Mission California Council, holding the office of president in 1995-96. She was a member of the San Diego Madres, serving as president in 1990-91.

She was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Santa Ana, CA, to Reynold and Anita Hernandez. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dean A. Richardson, a former resident of Huntington.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Pamela; two sons, Mark Richardson and Brian Richardson; three brothers, Reynold Hernandez, David Hernandez and M. Larry Cook; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A service was held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Faith Chapel in Spring Valley, CA.

Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, San Diego, CA, was in charge of arrangements.
