Violet M. Banter, 99, of Marion, IN, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at 7:05 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, Warren, IN.
Mrs. Banter lived most of her life in Jackson Township, Wells County. She was a member of the Dillman Church of the United Brethren in Christ, Dillman Ladies Aid, Church Missionary Society and the Jackson Township Home Economics Club.
She was born Dec. 29, 1910, in Dillman to William A. and Sarah Pearlie Williamson Ritchey. She married Jason A. Banter on Aug. 30, 1930, in Bluffton. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Jack R. (Ruth) Banter, of North Manchester, and Rex J. (Michelle) Banter, of Dillman; six daughters, Ellen I. (Gary) King, of Fort Wayne; Ileen M. (Bill) Maxwell, of Noblesville; Joyce S. (Don) Thornett, of Fairfax, VA; and Linda L. (Wendell) King, Joan A. (George) Springer and Wanda K. Mason, all of Bluffton; 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, Feb. 8, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. A service will be held at the Dillman Church of the United Brethren in Christ on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dick Frederick, Rev. Dick Case and Rev. Larry Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.
