Steven E. Tester, 62, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at 10:14 p.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Tester was a former employee of Markle Home Products and Guardian Industries. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was born Nov. 15, 1947, to Robert Eugene and Juanita Richardson Tester. His mother survives in Huntington. He married Crystal Marie Lahr on June 2, 1973, at St. Mary Church in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Travis Tester, of Huntington; three brothers, Ronald Tester, Rick Tester and Stan Tester, all of Huntington; and two sisters, Diane (Ken) Murray and Debbie (Gary) Brown, both of Huntington.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. John Pfister officiating. Burial was at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington.
A graveside military service was provided by VFW Post 2689. The honor guard was composed of Leslie Ackerman, Harold Bennett, Carll Smith, Jerry Helms and Zach Ashbaugh. Jerry Walling did the flag detail. Cannon and "Taps" were done by Mike Smith and Wayne Ashbaugh.
