Lowell E. 'Shorty' Rosen

Lowell Eugene “Shorty” Rosen, 70, of rural Urbana, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 5:15 a.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Rosen was a 1963 graduate of Northfield High School. He was a member of St. Paul’s County Line Church in Andrews, Urbana Lions Club, Wabash County Plan Commission and Wabash County 4-H Fair Board.

He was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Huntington to Sherman and Isabel Schenkel Rosen. He married Claudia Wolfe on Aug. 5, 1967, at the Manchester Church of the Brethren, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Michelle (Joe) Ross, of Pendleton; three sons, Christian (Andrea) Rosen and Aaron (Amy) Rosen, both of Urbana, and Ryan (Kelly) Rosen, of Wabash; a brother, James (Connie) Rosen, of Urbana; a sister, Bette Fitch, of North Manchester; and 11 grandchildren, Tristan Ross, Ethan Ross, Avery Ross and Mikala Ross, all of Pendleton; Sophie Rosen, Kendal Rosen, Cole Rosen and Addy Rosen, all of Urbana; and Taylor Kock, Reece Rosen and Kaden Rosen, all of Wabash.

A service was held on Monday, June 27, 2016, at St. Paul’s County Line Church, Andrews, with Rev. Conrad Thompson and Rev. Larry Ray officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, North Manchester.
