Georgiana M. Crockett, 92, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, at 8:50 a.m. at The Heritage of Huntington.
Mrs. Crockett graduated from Port Jervis High School, in New Jersey, in 1941. She served in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a self-employed pedicurist in Huntington for 25 years and had also worked in sales for Brown and Rowe Shoes and for Milford Dress Shop. She was a member of Central Christian Church, in Huntington, and the Huntington County Art Guild.
She was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Huntington to Paul and Hazel Brubaker Mitchell. She married Hartford B. Crockett in June of 1944, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1983.
Survivors include a son, Bill (Shelley) Crockett, of Roanoke; three granddaughters, Melissa (Lonnie) Williams, of Fort Wayne, and Amy (Ryan) Fields and Cassandra (Kurt) Land, both of Roanoke; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, July 1, 2016, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. Rev. Bill Rapp will officiate. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County, with military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, of Huntington.
