Carl Sandlin

Carl Sandlin, 67, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at 8:26 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Sandlin graduated from Silver Lake High School, in Silver Lake, in 1966. He served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and retired from Hiner Transport, in Huntington, after 38 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, of Huntington, and ABATE Motorcycle Club, of Fort Wayne.

He was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Detroit, MI to Georgia Laugle. He married Patricia Street on Jan. 30, 2016, in Huntington, and she survives. Additional survivors include a son, Scott Sandlin, of Huntington; a daughter, Sheri A. (Mike) Braden, of Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Stacey (Will) Loveless, of Muncie; a brother, Tom (Glenda) Laugle, of Tustin, CA; two sisters, Judy Hogan, of Huntington, and Sharon (Kurt) Park, of Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law, Karen Laugle, of Huntington; and five grandchildren, Justin Braden, Chelsey Sandlin, Jack Keener, Dakota Braden and Cory Sandlin.

Calling is Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Raymond Scribner will officiate. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, of Huntington.
