Max D. Close

Max D. Close, 89, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 11:30 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington, IN.

Mr. Close was a machinist with Air Research in Phoenix, AZ. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Bippus to Doyle and Evelyn Brandenburg Close. He married Joanna J. Lambert in 1946. She preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 2009.

Survivors include a son, Jon (Joyce) Close, of Tracy, CA; a  daughter, Carol Proefrock, of Huntington; a sister, Linda (Gary) Brenneman; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
 
Calling is Monday, July 25, 2016, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service following at noon, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. Rev. Gus Hacker will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington.
