Gaylan J. Thiel

Gaylan J. Thiel, 73, of Edon, OH, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 11:47 p.m. at the home of her daughter in Wauseon, OH.

Mrs. Thiel had worked for Wolff Tractor Sales in Edon, was a longtime bus driver for the Edon Northwest Schools and had worked at PTC in Edon. She had also owned and operated Country Store Carry-Out in Edon for seven years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Blakeslee, OH.

She was born March 3, 1943, in Huntington to Bernard and Madonna Lucas May. She married Ronald R. Thiel on Feb. 11, 1960, on Blakeslee, OH. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2016.

Survivors include four daughters, Yvonda (Curtis) Stantz, of Wauseon, OH; Cheryl Fenstermaker and Michele (Joseph) Headley, both of Edon, OH; and Rachael (Jeremy) Welch, of Edgerton, OH; a son, Chris (Janis) Thiel, of Edgerton, OH; a sister, Linda Byall, of Roanoke; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m., at Krill Funeral Home, 204 W. Indiana St., Edon, OH. A service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Blakeslee, OH. Rev. Daniel Borgelt and Rev. Fred Duschl will officiate. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Blakeslee, OH.
