Roderick B. Goebel

Roderick B. Goebel, 80, of Marion, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Marion Rehabilitation and Assisted Living.

Mr. Goebel worked in inventory for GM for 30 years.

He was born in 1935 in Huntington to Charles Sr. and Nellie Sprinkle Goebel. He married Carolyn Cayot on Oct. 9, 1956, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Debbie (Randall) Planck, of South Elgin, IL; Delaine (James) Gerstbauer, of Bloomington; and Danette (John) Byrd, of Swayzee; four grandchildren, Dr. Ryan (Kendl) Planck, Jacob (Mallory) Planck, Corbin Byrd and Kyle Byrd; and a great-grandson.

Calling is Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon at Temple Congregational Church, Marion. Rev. Jeff Jahn will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
