Jack E. McKillip

Jack E. McKillip, 86, of rural Wabash, IN, and having family members in Markle, IN, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at 10:30 p.m. at his home.

Mr. McKillip graduated from Chippewa High School and served two years in the United States Army. He was a lifelong farmer and co-owner of McKillip Seeds. He was a long-time member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, where he served as elder, teacher and mentor.

He was born April 19, 1930, in Wabash County to Alvin and Amanda Shinn McKillip. He married Judy Sinclair on Jan. 1, 1953, at Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Craig (Connie) McKillip, of Wabash; three daughters, Lynn (Rick) Smalling, of Markle; Amy Stearley, of Wabash; and Mary Jo (Brett) Wynn, of Urbana; a sister, Jean Myers, of Greentown; a brother, Ken D. (Betty Jo) McKillip, of Wabash; 10 grandchildren, Brent McKillip, Brooke McKillip, Amanda Lloyd, Erin Randol, Shelly Frisch, Eric Stearley, Taylor Fitch, BlakeWynn, Emma Wynn and Kyle Wynn.

Calling is Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, 2147 N. Ind.-15, Wabash. Rick Smalling and David Stokes will officiate. Burial will be at Falls Cemetery, in Wabash.
