Jean A. Denton

Jean A. Denton, 83, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at 9:36 a.m. at her home.

Mrs. Denton was a 1950 graduate of Albion High School. She retired from Memcor after 20 years of service and had also worked part time as a bartender at Young’s Café, in Huntington. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 Ladies’ Auxiliary, in Huntington.

She was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Huntington to Curtis G. and Edna Weist Lung. She married LeRoy J. Denton on May 17, 1952, in Huntington, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Billie R. (Steve) Garwood, of Huntington; a son, Randy L. Denton, of Huntington; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Denton, of Huntington; a brother, Robert Lung, of Ligonier; two grandchildren, Hiley Garwood and Shawn Garwood, both of Huntington; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Calling is Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, in Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Roger Abraham will officiate. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Huntington.
