Gary W. Eltzroth

Gary Wayne Eltzroth, 64, of Markle, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at 10:45 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Eltzroth attended Huntington North High School. He served in the United States Army as a specialist during Vietnam, serving two tours in the 220th Aviation Company “Catkillers” and as a door gunner. He was currently working as a truck driver at First Fleet, in Bluffton.

He was born Aug. 10, 1952, in Huntington to Harry and Phyllis Yeiter Eltzroth. His mother survives in Warren. He married Linda Harness on Nov. 22, 1974, in Plum Tree, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Shane Edward (Angie) Eltzroth, of Warren, and Ryan Wayne Eltzroth and Joshua Adam (Nikki) Eltzroth, both of Huntington; a daughter, Felecia Faith (Travis) Jeffries, of Marion; three brothers, Roger (Joy) Yeiter, of Huntington; Ed Eltzroth, of Warren; and Terry (Kim) Eltzroth, of Liberty Center; six sisters, Brenda Barton, of Alabama; Pam Koons, of Bluffton; Rhonda (Jim) Howard, of Andrews; Sondra (Larry) Scheiber, of Huntington; Mary Bustos, of Ossian; and Susan (Jim) Martin, of Warren; a brother-in-law, Don Harness, of Pennville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Phyllis Harness, of Warren; and seven grandchildren, Austin Eltzroth, Brock Eltzroth, Cole Eltzroth, Grayson Eltzroth, Treytin Smith, Kycin Jeffries and Allison Eltzroth.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Healing Waters Ministry, 5811W-606S, Huntington (Mt. Etna). Military honors will be conducted by the Huntington County Honor Guard at 2:30 p.m., with a service following military honors. Rev. Arley Higginbotham, Rev. Wayne Couch and Rev. Bruce Warner will officiate.
