Shane A. Duncan

Shane A. Duncan, 56, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at 9:53 a.m. at his residence.

Mr. Duncan was a 1978 graduate of Huntington North High School, where he was on the swim team. He received an Associate of Science from Ivy Tech in human resources. He also received a degree from IPFW. He served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1985, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the Sea Service Ribbon. He had worked at Jack Eiser Sales in Fort Wayne for many years. He later worked at the Washington House in Fort Wayne, and most recently he worked for Sees Supplies driving a truck.

He was a member of Markle Church of Christ and went on several mission trips to Mexico. He also umpired for many years at the Markle Park.

He was born June 27, 1960, in Fort Wayne to Jerry L. and Donna Joy Millraney Duncan. His father and stepmother, Jerry and Pat Duncan, of Markle, survive.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Sheryl Anderson Duncan, of Huntington; two sisters, Sheila (Brian) Rethlake, of Huntington; Lori Gottfried, of Roanoke; four stepbrothers, Rick (Lynn) Smalling, Brent Smalling and Scott (Cindy) Lund, all of Markle, and Skip (Pam) Smalling, of Huntington; three stepsisters, Javonda (Jim) Warpup, of Warren; Darlene (Tim) Yaste, of Huntington; and Sharon (Kevin) Banet, of Markle; and three grandchildren, Shane Downey, Mason Downey and Brooklynn Tyree.

Calling is Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, Huntington. Rick Smalling and Nathan Palmer will officiate.
