Donna M. Hoke

Donna M. Hoke, 84, of Marion, IN, and having family members in Warren, IN, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at 12:56 p.m. at Marion General Hospital.

Mrs. Hope owned and operated McVicker’s Bait & Tackle. She graduated from Sweetser High School and was a member of Temple Congregational Church. She spent winters in New Port Richey, FL, and was active with the Senior Center.

She was born Oct. 15, 1932, to Claude Powell and Gertrude Davis Sharon. She married Donald D. Hoke in July of 1993, and he survives.

Additional survivors include five children, Becky Van Ness, Linda McVicker and Tommie McVicker, all of Marion; Karen (Jerry) Frees, of Warren; and Dennis (Tammy) McVicker, of Gas City; a stepson, Robert (Barbara) Hoke, of Marion; nine grandchildren, Meri Collins, Vikki Van Ness, Eric (Debbie) Long, Pat (Richelle) Long, Adrienne Long, Kyle McVicker, Zachary Cox, April Cox and Janel Shaffer; a stepgranddaughter, Angel (Justin) Cook; and several great-grandchildren.

A service was held on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, Marion, with Rev. Jeffrey Jahn officiating. Burial was at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
