Dr. Charles R. Cutler

Dr. Charles Russell Cutler, 87, of Indianapolis, IN, and a former Huntington, IN, businessman, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at University Heights Health and Living Community in Indianapolis.

Dr. Cutler graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1957. He worked as a large animal veterinarian and had a practice in Huntington for 10 years. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as a circuit supervisor after 20 years of service. He was a volunteer for Community Hospital South, Indianapolis. He was a member of Community Church of Greenwood and the National Association of Federal Veterinarians. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Plainville, OH, to Russell and Helen Furlong Cutler. He married Delores Cutler on June 15, 1945, in Cincinnati, OH. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Keith Roy Cutler, of Indianapolis.

A service will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, art 1 p.m., with calling two hours prior to the service, at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St., Franklin. Rev. Jack Haun will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, with military honors.
