John D. Kidd Sr.

John David Kidd Sr., 77, of New Haven, IN, and having family members in Huntington County, IN, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Kidd had worked for G.E. as an operations manager for more than 30 years and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Whispering Meadows Golf Course, both in New Haven.

He was born Nov. 23, 1939, in Marion, OH, to O.C. and Iva Dutton Kidd. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Kidd, in 2015.

Survivors include two daughters, Kassie (Kirk) Ripple, of New Haven, and Kelly Screeton, of Fort Wayne; a son, John (Bobbi Jo) Kidd Jr., of Fort Wayne; four siblings, Tom Kidd, of Fort Wayne; Pat Kidd and Linda (Ray) Villanueva, both of Roanoke; and Nancy Lantz, of Huntington; and 10 grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home,740 Ind.-930E, New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven. Rev. Bill Sullivan will preside. Burial will be at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, New Haven.
