Carolyn J. Yoder

Carolyn J. Yoder, 87, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at 7:20 p.m. at Markle Health and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Yoder was a 1946 graduate of Huntington High School. She worked at Sealtest, in Huntington, for several years and was a member of the Samuel Huntington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a life member of Central Christian Church, where she was baptized on April 9, 1941. She worked as financial secretary of the church for 19 years and served as deaconess, nursery school secretary and coordinator of teas and receptions. She was a member and officer of the Christian Women’s Fellowship.

She was born March 7, 1929, in Huntington to Gerald Everett and Mildred Isabelle Beaver Diffendorfer. She married L. Richard Yoder on Nov. 26, 1950, in Huntington, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2001.

Survivors include three daughters, Ann (Greg) Funk, of Warsaw; Emilie (Mark) Wolf, of Huntington; and Susan (David) Hunnicutt, of Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren, Brian (Megan) Funk, Kevin (Erin) Funk, Andrew (Nicole) Wolf, Allison Wolf, Aaron (Kayla) Wolf, Jarrod (Kendra) Hunnicutt, Jeffrey Hunnicutt and Jordan Hunnicutt.

Calling is Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, in Huntington. A service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Central Christian Church, 5000 MacGahan St., Huntington, with Rev. Chris Hayden officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
