Willie Slone, 63, of Silver Lake, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at 3:50 p.m. at Hospice Home of Fort Wayne.
Mr. Slone graduated from Manchester High School in 1965 and from Manchester College in 1971. He received his master's degree from Indiana University in 1973. He taught science at South Whitley Middle School from 1971 to 1994. He was a member of the Manchester Bible Church, North Manchester, where he served on the board as treasurer.
He was born Dec. 19, 1946, in Akron to Edd and Ida Hall Slone. He married Judy Lynn Jackson on July 17, 1971, in Hampstead, MD. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Jason (Amy) Slone, of Silver Lake; two daughters, Michele (Mike) Thurston, of Huntington, and Melanie Slone, of Silver Lake; four sisters, Hattie Brown, Marcie Kirk, Louise Hopkins and Edna Hughes, all of Warsaw; and three grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Fuenral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. A service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010, art 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Larry Schuh officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Cemetery, Silver Lake,
