E. Elaine Beaty, 62, of Marion, IN, and having family members in Warren, IN, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion.

Mrs. Beaty was employed by RCA/Thomson for 37 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Northeast Church of God and Women of the Church of God and served as a Kids Alive mentor at the church. She was a member of the Women's Democratic Party, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1160 and Central Labor Council of Grant County. She volunteered and worked at the YWCA.

She was born Dec. 1, 1947, in Sims to Albert B. and Rosalie Pope Macklin.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Rhonda) Beaty, of Converse; three sisters, Frances Mossburg, of Warren; Mary Shelton, of Pell City, AL; and Ardith (Edward) Gaither, Jonesboro; and two grandchildren, Blaine and Isaac.

A service was held Monday, March 8, 2010, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, Marion, with Rev. Darrell Smith officiating. Burial was at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the Northeast Church of God Children's Ministries.
