Donald E. Fritch

Donald E. Fritch, 64, of Marion, IN, and having relatives in Van Buren, IN, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at 4 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Fritch served in the United States Navy for 27 years. He had served two tours in Saudi Arabia. His rank was SH2 and he had decorations of Battle "E" ribbon award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Expeditionary, Meritorious Unit Commendation Award, Fourth Good Conduct 93 Jan., National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was born July 23, 1952, to James R. and Eva Marie Phelps Fritch in Elizabethtown, KY.

Survivors include three sons, Donald E. Fritch II, of Marion, and Nathan R. Fritch and Matthew R. (Marcella) Fritch, both of Van Buren; four sisters, Patricia (David) Diskey, Mary (Michael) Cassidy and Debra (Kenneth) Duncan, all of Marion, and Donna (Juna) McDaniel, of Upland; four brothers, Darrell (Matty) Fritch and Richard Fritch, both of Lake Wells, FL, and Ronald (Paula) Fritch and David (Sharon) Fritch, both of Marion; and four grandchildren.

A graveside service will be Friday March 31, 2017, at 1 p.m.  in the Marion National Cemetery, Mario.   Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.
