Thomas E. Elick, 63, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 11:30 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Elick graduated from Huntington High School and joined the United States Army. He was a retired engineer, with 32 years of service for Norfolk Southern, the Erie Railroad and Conrail. He was a former officer of American Legion Post 85, a member of Amvets Post 0055 in Fort Wayne and a member of Moose Lodge 837.
He was born July 13, 1946, in Huntington to Eugene and Vivian Goodwin Elick. He married Jackie Snow on Dec. 19, 2008; his wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Brian (Jean) Elick, of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Terri (Jon) Beam, of Columbia City; two stepsons, Ernie (Tammy) Stephan, of Huntington, and Roger (Kelly) Yeiter, of Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Rita (Jeff) Brown, of Huntington, and Amy Rakoczy, of Roanoke; a sister, Sharon Elick, of Huntington; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Calling is Sunday, March 14, 2010, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 15, 2010, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Troy Mower officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
