Paul Nichols

Paul Nichols, 69, of North Manchester, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 6:10 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Nichols served with the United States Army in Vietnam and earned the Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church and served on mission trips with the church. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

He was born Feb. 13, 1948, in Sarah Ann, WV, to Willie and Polly Maynard Nickels. He married Janice Lochner on Feb. 1, 1983, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Pamela (Jerry) Warren, of Laketon, and Felicia Womack and Jessica (Rik) Schenepp, both of Warsaw; two stepsons, Cameron Lochner, of North Manchester, and Dustan (Amy) Lochner, of Huntington; five brothers, Dan (Minnie) Nickels, Charles Nickels, David (Nancy) Nickels and Chet Nickels, all of Sarah Ann, WV, and Jack Nickels, of North Manchester; two sisters, Connie (Gary) Nester, of Laurel Fork, VA, and Colleen (Jeff) Weimann, of Urbana; and 12 grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a service following at 11 a.m., at the North Manchester United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Eastway will officiate.
