Shirley Ann Shelt, 85, a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at 9:40 a.m. at the home of her daughter near Edgerton, OH.
Mrs. Shelt graduated in 1949 from Delta High School, in Delta, OH. She was a member of Fulton Union Church and American Legion Post 373 Auxiliary, both in Delta, OH. She worked as a cake decorator for many years in northwest Ohio, at Churchill’s Bakery in Toledo and Lange’s Bakery in Archbold, OH. She served as a volunteer at the Fulton County Health Center, in Wauseon, OH. She was a longtime bowler.
She was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Wauseon, OH, to Aaron and Anna Shawley Rychener. She married Daniel B. Shelt on May 11, 1952, in Delta, OH, and he preceded her in death on June 22, 1987.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan (David) Schultz, of Bluffton; Karen (Mitchell) Schoonover, of Edgerton, OH; and Linda Welch, of Liberty Center, OH; eight grandchildren, Linda Kay (David) Impola, of Kingsford, MI; Timothy (Samantha) Schultz, of Huntington; Robert Schultz, of Hillsdale, MI; Jennifer (Nicholas Sosbee) Thatcher and Katelynn (Jayson) McGraw, both of Napoleon, OH; Celia (Daryl Housh) Cortez, of Grand Rapids, OH; Michelle (Peter) Schutz, of Genoa, OH; and Aaron (Austin Nelson) Welch, of Bowling Green, OH; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Krill Funeral Home, 114 E. Hull St., Edgerton, OH. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow.
