Pamela S. Schumann, 69, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Ms. Schumann was a 1965 graduate of Clear Creek High School. She graduated in 1969 from Ball Sate University, where she earned a degree in business education. She was a top 10 finalist in the 1967 Miss Indiana Pageant, representing Huntington as Miss Heritage Days, and was the 1967 Ball State University homecoming queen, representing Delta Zeta sorority.
She earned a master’s degree in education and secondary administration and taught business and vocational business courses in the Glenbard School District, in Illinois, and at Wayne High School, in Allen County.
She was born Oct. 21, 1947, in Huntington to John E. and Miriam R. Lahr Whitestine.
Survivors include a daughter, Karyn S. (Lynn) Chestnut, of Fort Wayne; a brother, William G. Whitestine, of Fort Wayne; and two stepgrandchildren, Cody Chestnut and Devin Gilliam, both of Fort Wayne.
The family will hold a private service. Burial will be at Beech Grove Cemetery, Huntington County.
