James M. Converse

James Mark Converse, 78, of Deedsville, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, in Peru.

Mr. Converse retired as a conductor from C&O Railroad and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of The Cross, in Rochester.

He was born July 10, 1938, in Huntington to Fred Elmo and Louella Johnston Converse. He married Margot Medinger on Feb. 5, 1960, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Davis, of Miami County; three sons, James Nicholas Converse, Thomas Wesley (Cathy) Converse and John Paul Converse, all of Miami County; a sister, JoAnn Yates, of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, April 28, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Cross, in Rochester, with a service and military honors following at 4 p.m. Rev. Mike Clout will officiate.

McClain Funeral Home, Denver, is in charge of arrangements.
