Robert Wainwright Plasterer, 87, of Markle, died Sunday, March 14, 2010.

Mr. Plasterer graduated from North Side High School, Fort Wayne, in 1941. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945, achieving the rank of lieutenant. He retired from GE in 1982 after more than 41 years of service.

He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Parish, Fort Wayne, for 50 years, serving in many areas of ministry, and was a member of American Legion Post 47.

He was born June 22, 1922, in Huntington to Richard and Myrtle Lee Plasterer. He married Helen Shaffer on Aug. 30, 1941. His wife preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Richard (Robin) Plasterer, of Churubusco, and Michael (Debbie) Plasterer, of Ossian; two daughters, Janet (Joey) McBride, of Goodyear, AZ, and Barbara (Kevin) Kellogg, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Allen (Jackie) Plasterer, of New Haven; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 1 p.m. at St.Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne. Calling will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the church for Masses.
