George R. Paul

George R. Paul, 90, of Warren, IN and formerly of Markle, IN, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 2:14 a.m. at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mr. Paul was a 1944 graduate of Jefferson Center High School in Huntington County. He was a 1957 graduate of Ball State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1945, serving during World War II.  He later joined the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1966, serving during the Korean Conflict. He received a promotion to major in 1964, and retired in 1966.

He was born Dec. 25, 1926, in North Judson to Palmer and Helen Huffman Paul. He married Barbara Boulware on Jan. 27, 1945, in Warren, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, George (Ginger) Paul, of Angola; a daughter, Suzann Paul, of Ossian; a son-in-law, Darrell G. Murray, of Bluffton; a sister, JoAnn Trout, of Warren; two stepbrothers, Joseph Huber, of Warren, and David Huber, of Upland; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date at Markle Cemetery.
