Wilda E. Metzger, 88, of Columbia City, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at her home.

Mrs. Metzger attended St. Peter Lutheran School in Huntington and graduated from Huntington Township High School and Wayne Beauty School in 1941. She was a homemaker and worked as a beautician in Huntington and Fort Wayne. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Columbia City.

She was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Huntington to August F. and Elizabeth Kocher Poehler. She married Carl E. Metzger on Sept. 29, 1946. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Lee W. Metzger, of LaGrange; and a sister, Wilma M. Pinckley, of California.
A service will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind.-114 West, North Manchester. Rev. Jerrold Nichols will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
