Mary Louise Lowery, 91, of Warren, IN, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 12:10 a.m. at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation in Bluffton.

Mrs. Lowery farmed in Union Township and Rock Creek Township until 1959. She had also worked at the Butterfield Canning Company in Plum Tree and for Singer Sewing Machines in Fort Wayne.

She was a 1936 graduate of Rock Creek High School. She had been a member of the Samuel Huntington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1945, was a lifelong member of the Buckeye Christian Church and had been a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship and the Huntington County Home Economics Club.

She was born Aug. 24, 1918, in Rock Creek Township, Huntington County, to Okal D. and Vivian Pribble McCracken. Her first marriage was on Feb. 13, 1937, to Harold M. "Shorty" Hamilton; he preceded her in death in May 1961. Three other husbands, Paul D. Williams, John Volz and Marshall Lowery, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Howard "Cris" (Mary) Hamilton, of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Kris W. Hamilton and Sandy Scarce, both of Tucson, AZ; Hayley HJ. Wright, of Aurora, CO; and Ronald D. Hamilton, of Oakland, IL; several great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Hamilton, of Tucson, AZ.

Calling is Monday, March 22, 2010, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. No service is planned. Burial will be at Sparks Cemetery, Wells County.
