Sue E. Tillman

Sue E. Tillman, 75, of rural Claypool, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at 12:45 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Tillman had been employed by Murphy Medical. She attended the Apostolic Gospel Church and Touch of Life Church, both in Warsaw, and was a member of the Fort Wayne Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 348.

She was born June 20, 1933, in Noblesville to Rex Ray and Ruby Alice Newcomb Halterman. She married Robert A. Tillman on July 26, 1952, in Tiosa, IN. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Janet Wright and Cheryl Reeser, both of Claypool; four sons, Larry Tillman, of Huntington, Lanny Tillman, of Rochester, Ira Craig Tillman, of Plymouth, and Bruce (Charlene) Tillman, of Warsaw; two brothers, George (Marilyn) Halterman and Ned (Jane) Halterman, both of Rochester; a sister, Judy Jones, of Rochester; two stepbrothers, Robert (Shirley) Tobey, of Rochester, and Tom Tobey, of Indianapolis; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

A service was held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, with Rev. JC Sparks and Rev. John Reid officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
