William P. 'Bill' Zent

William Paul “Bill” Zent, 76, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at Tipton Place, in Huntington.

Mr. Zent graduated from Huntington High School in 1959 and served in the United States Army during the Bay of Pigs Conflict in Cuba. He earned a degree in drafting in Minnesota and worked for 35 years as a warehouse supervisor at American Electric Power, in Fort Wayne, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Faith Community Church of God and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 77, in Huntington.

He was born April 12, 1941, in Huntington to Lawson Baldy and Virginia Kocher Zent. He married Laura A. Betz Bowers on Oct. 14, 1978, at the East State Street Church of God, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Wendy (Cecil) Harter and Pam (Jim) Falcone, both of Huntington, and Teresa Bramblett, of Alpharetta, GA; two sons, Kent Bowers, of Big Lake, and Steven (Cindy) Bowers, of Frost Proof, FL; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, in Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at 10 am., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Micah Mobley will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, in Huntington County, with military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, of Huntington.
