Betty M. Scott, 92, of Markle, IN, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2017.
Mrs. Scott was a homemaker. She had also worked at GE during World War II and at Lutheran Hospital and Corning Glass Works. She was a member of the Bluffton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She was born May 27, 1925, in Huntington County to Palmer A. Sr. and Emma Bair Hillegas. She married Robert V. Scott Sr. on April 8, 1943, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1995.
Survivors include four sons, Robert V. (Lesa) Scott Jr., Daniel (Laura) Scott, James (Deb) Scott and William Scott; four daughters, Susan (Chuck) Reynolds, Alice Nowikowski, Jennifer Ellebracht and Edie Scott; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Hillegas; a stepsister, Linda Ralston; a stepbrother, John Huffman; two half-siblings; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
Calling is Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., with calling beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
