Harold E. Reeves, 97, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 12:45 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Reeves graduated from Huntington High School in 1938. He served in the United States Army as a staff sergeant during World War II. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Yoder, American Legion Post 7 in Huntington and the Huntington County Amateur Radio Society, where he used the call sign “KA9win.”
He was born April 8, 1920, in Huntington to John and Lydia Anders Reeves. He married Julia E. Marks on Nov. 12, 1939, in Huntington, and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2010.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ellen Reeves, of Huntington; a brother, Paul Dolby Jr., of Huntington; five grandchildren, Yvonne Treft and Darryl Treft, both of Huntington, and Brooke Reeves, Paige Kagin and Stacy Reeves, all of Fort Wayne; three great-grandsons; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. Rev. John Robinette will officiate. Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County, with military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, of Huntington.
