Caroline J. VanAlstine

Caroline J. VanAlstine, 82, of Roanoke, IN, died Sunday evening, Oct. 15, 2017, at Coventry Meadows Nursing Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. VanAlstine was a long-time resident of Janesville, WI, and had moved to Roanoke in 1999. She retired from SSI Technologies, in Janesville, WI. She was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church, in Roanoke.

She was born May 7, 1935, in Janesville, WI, to Ralph and Kathren Perry. She married Richard “Dick” VanAlstine on Jan. 9, 1960, and he survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Kathren Cherry, of Roanoke; four brothers, Donald (Suellyn) Perry, Ronald Perry and David Perry, all of Janesvlle, WI, and Gary (Deborah) Perry, of Huntington; a sister, Betty (Kimio) Hirano, of Florence, KY; and a grandson, Steven Richard (Dakota) Cherry, of Huntington.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Seminary United Methodist Church, Roanoke, with a reception following in the church reception hall. Rev. Dick Bunnell will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville, WI.
