Alton C. Harris

Alton C. Harris, 81, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at 9:39 a.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Harris retired from Majestic, where he had worked for more than 28 years. He was a member of Bethesda Free Will Baptist Church.

He was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Weeksbury, KY, to Grant and Sarah Hall Harris. He married Pluma Jean Berger on Aug. 22, 1965, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth (Robert) Myrda, of North Manchester, and Gina (Wade) Tyner, of Huntington; two brothers, Hairl (Opal) Harris, of Winchester, KY, and Tommy (Barbara) Harris, of Huntington; five sisters, Marie (Onsby) Johnson, of Andrews; and Geraldine (Orbin) Hall, Patsy (Rolla) Blair, Ethel Wires Mygrant and Irene (Blane) Caudill, all of Huntington; a half-sister, Frances Vanderpool, of Wabash; and three grandsons, Zachary Bailey, Blake Dolby and Gabriel Tyner.

Calling is Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon, at Bethesda Free Will Baptist Church, 116 S. Main St., Andrews. Rev. Tod Masters will officiate. Burial will be at Monument City Cemetery, Huntington County.
