Richard A. 'Dick' Homier

Richard A. “Dick” Homier, 88, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at 1:11 p.m. at Norwood Health and Rehabilitation, Huntington.

Mr. Homier served in the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. He retired from Yellow Freight Systems. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a square dance caller and an amateur magician.

He was born April 14, 1929, in Huntington to Leo J. and Lena Schenkel Homier. He married Anna J. Mygrant at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Jay A. (Darlene) Homier; two sisters, Treasa Lewis, of Bear Lake, and Rita Whisenhunt, of Huntington; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at Deal-Rice Funeral Home-Huntington Chapel. Rev. Stephen Colchin will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
