Robert E. Quakenbush

Robert E. Quakenbush, 74, of Montpelier, IN, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at his residence.

Mr. Quakenbush attended Andrews High School in Dallas Township. Starting in Craigville, he had driven trucks most of his life. He had worked at First Fleet in Bluffton, Redi Mix in Huntington, IN and most recently for Rick Ramseyer in Montpelier. He was a member of Grover Sheets American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton, Millard Brown American Legion Post 156 and the Bluffton Moose.

He was born June 2, 1943, in Andrews, to Leroy and Rosemary Miller Quakenbush. He married Mary Eldridge on May 21, 1983, in Bluffton, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Rose Ellen Quakenbush, of Montpelier; six stepsons, Joe Bailey, of Key Largo, FL; Shane Bailey and Vincent Patton, both of Bluffton; John Bailey Jr., of Huntington; Patrick Patton, of Fort Wayne; and Joe Patton, of Andrews; two stepdaughters, Priscilla Newman, of Fort Worth, TX, and Yvonna Wright, of Markle; five brothers, Raymond Quakenbush, of Huntington; Kenny Quakenbush, of Columbus, OH; Daniel (Brenda) Quakenbush, of Fort Wayne; Mark Quakenbush, of Gas City; and David Quakenbush, of Marion; a grandson, Zachary Scott (Lori) Quakenbush, of Bluffton; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Jimmy Patton.
