Fern Vincent

Fern Vincent, 82, of Hartford City, IN, and having local relatives, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at 4:31 a.m. at Bridgewater Nursing Centre.

Mrs. Vincent was a homemaker and former co-owner and co-operator of Vincent’s Grocery Store in Roll.

She was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Hyden, KY, to Gus and Nettie Thomas Baker.  She married Lowell Vincent on Feb. 11, 1956, in Portland. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1975.

Surviving are a daughter, Penny S. Paver, of Hartford City; three sisters, Thelma (Sam) Lloyd of Florida; Gennie (Steve) Poff and Peggy (Dave) Tyler, both of Huntington; four brothers, Dan Baker, of Hartford City; Tom Baker, of Warren; Rev. Clarence (Barb) Baker, of Hartford City; and John Baker, of Huntington; two grandchildren, Clint V. (Stephanie) Robbins, of Hartford City and Cortney R. Robbins (Jason Villarreal), of Fort Wayne; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling is Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. A funeral service will follow immediately after, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Clarence Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
