Thelma J. King

Thelma June King, 92 of Lafayette, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 8:40 a.m. at the Bee Hive Homes in Lafayette.

Mrs. King was a 1943 graduate of Lancaster Township High School, and later graduated from Ball State University in 1947 with her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Huntington Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years and as a private duty nurse. She volunteered at the Forks of the Wabash Museum.

She was born June 20, 1925, in Huntington County to Charles and Bessie Buzzard Plasterer. She married Robert L. King on Aug. 15, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Clifford L. King, of Aurora, CO, and Ronald A. King, of Lafayette; and a brother, Carl Plasterer, of LaGrange.

Calling is Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
