Marlene Allison

Marlene Allison, 80, of Fort Wayne, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, in Fort Wayne.

She was a 1958 graduate of the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing and worked for several years at Lutheran Hospital. In 1971, she began work as a public health nurse at the Allen County Board of Health, where she worked until her retirement in 2002. She volunteered at Lutheran Life Villages and her church.

She was born Sept. 25, 1937, in Huntington to George C. and Leah Divelbiss Gearhart.

Surviving are two daughters, Dawn Tyner and Deanna (Kevin) McDermit; a brother, George Duane (Carol) Gearhart; four granddaughters, Hayley Tyner, Chelsey Tyner, Caitlin (Kyle) Wagner and Emily McDermit; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 5 p.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne.
