Mary A. Jackson

Mary Alice Jackson, 99, of Bluffton, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at her home.

Mrs. Jackson was a 1936 graduate of Huntington High School.  In 1947, she and her husband started the James S. Jackson Construction Company where she was active for 25 years. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Psi Iota Xi, Eastern Star, Home Forum Club and Study Club.

She was born May 10, 1918, to Wilbert A. and Hazel Mickley Krieg. She married James S. Jackson on Dec. 2, 1939, in Daleville, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Surviving are three sons, James D. (Celia) Jackson and Thomas K. (Priscilla) Jackson, both of Syracuse; and Mick (Brenda) Jackson, of Bluffton; two daughters, Sally (Norm) Kain and Cindy Lambert, both of Bluffton; two brothers, Kieth Krieg and Paul (Joan) Krieg, both of Fort Wayne; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.  

She was also preceded in death by an infant granddaughter.

Calling is Friday, March 9, 2018, at Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton. A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church, with calling for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery.

Memorials are to Family LifeCare of Northeast Indiana, Caylor-Nickel Foundation Family YMCA or the Wells Community Boys &Girls Club.
