Anna F. Toler

Anna F. Toler, 96, of LaFontaine, IN, Sunday, March 4, 2018, at 10:04 a.m. at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center in LaFontaine.

Mrs. Toler graduated from Jefferson Township in 1939. She worked at Anaconda Wire & Cable Co. for 42 years as a clerk-typist and was known as "Machine Shop Annie". She was a charter member of Aureae Amicae Chapter of the American Business Women's Association for 47 years and was elected the club’s 1964 “woman of the year". She was also a charter member of Grace Community Church, where she was active as an usher and served in the kitchen. She was a member of the Marion General Hospital Auxiliary, A.A.R.P and American Legion Auxiliary in Van Buren. She actively participated in the Marion Easter Pageant formore than 20 years and was very active in the Thomas Jefferson Neighborhood Association.

She was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Portland to Rev. Noah and Edythe Byrd Grile. She married Russell Toler On Oct. 14, 1942.

Survivors include two sisters, Glendora Berger and Byrdie May Smith, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Grile.

A funeral service was held Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Grace Community Church. Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiated. Burial followed at Jefferson Cemetery.

Arrangements were  handled by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion.
