Kennth D. George

Kenneth D. George, 88, of Ossian, IN, and having family in Zanesville, IN, died Tuesday afternoon, March 20, 2018, at Ossian Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. George graduated from Jackson Township High School in Hoytville, OH, and received a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Indiana Technical College. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He worked for 40 years as an engineer for Franklin Electric in Bluffton. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.

He was born March 7, 1930, in Hoytville, OH, to Merritt B. and Bernice Dermer George. He married Kathleen “Mickey” McCormick on Aug. 28, 1955, in Fort Wayne, and she preceded him in death on March 31, 1992. He has been married to Lauretta Anderson Borror for the past 25 years, and she survives.

Additional survivors include five daughters, Julie Kidd of Minneapolis, MN; Jeanine Goeglein, of Zanesville; Amy George, of Craigville; Erin (Ed) Wright , of Fort Wayne, and Megan (Travis) Cover, of Indianapolis; two sons, Tim (Tana) George, of Marion, and Ryan (Melissa) George, of Fort Wayne; two stepsons, Dennis (Linda) Borror, of Bluffton, and Michael (Lynette) Borror, of Nashville, TN; a stepdaughter, Judy (Terry) Werling, of Ossian; 12 grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Heather Olson-Bunnell officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, with military rites by the United States Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton.
