James V. 'Jim' Ambriole

James V. “Jim” Ambriole, 94, of Roanoke, IN, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 10:15 p.m. at The Heritage of Huntington.

Mr. Ambriole served in the United States Navy in World War II aboard the aircraft carrier USS Barnes, was a farmer and worked at Navistar, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Emmanuel Community Church and Roanoke American Legion Post 160.

He was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Ravenna, OH to Victor and Odessa Courtney Ambriole. He married Eileen L. Paul on July 6, 1947, in Roanoke, and she survives him.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Anne Butcher, of Fort Wayne, and Pat (Dwight) Stetzel, of Laud; three sons, Paul (Loretta) Ambriole, of Huntington; Gary (LuAnn) Ambriole, of Roanoke; and Steven (Pamela) Ambriole, of Cocoa, FL; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, May 14, 2018, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., preceding the 5 p.m. funeral service, at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. Rev. Dennis Miller and Rev. Steve Fish will officiate. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
