Ruth B. Robbins, 90, of Markle, IN, died Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 6:15 p.m. at Sycamore Village in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Robbins was an English teacher who taught for several years at Bluffton, Lebanon, St. Joe, Lancaster and South Side High School. She was also a librarian for many years at Kekionga Junior High and South Side High School, retiring in 1986 from Fort Wayne Community Schools. She was raised in the Primitive Baptist Church. She attended Markle United Methodist Church.
She was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Blount County, AL, to George Henry and Emma Augusta Lewis Barnes. She married John Robbins on June 5, 1949, in Berea, KY. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1999.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita Robbins, of Markle; Nina Nordblom, of Clarkrange, TN; and Deborah Robbins, of San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, May 31, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Chad Yoder officiating.
