Harry D. Betten

Harry D. Betten, 87, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, June 15, 2018, at 5:25 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Betten was a lifetime farmer and spent the last 41 years farming in Warren Township. He worked as a welder at Safway Steel in Rochester, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church.

He was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Wabash County to Harry and Edna Boyer Betten. He married Norma Rittenhouse Pinkerton on Nov. 19, 1976 in Bippus, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Karen Vititoe, of Mexico; three sons, Michael (Cheryl) Betten, of New Castle; Ted (Barb) Pinkerton, of Roanoke; and Tim (Cinda) Pinkerton, of Trotwood, OH; a sister, Phyllis France, of Wabash; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary, with one hour of calling prior to the service. Rev. Barry Faucett will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Servia.
