Marvia Wilcox

Marvia Wilcox, 83, of North Manchester, IN, and a retired Bippus-area farmer, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 7:35 a.m. at Warsaw Meadows Healthcare Center, Warsaw.

Mr. Wilcox was a self-employed farmer in the Bippus area for 65 years. He had also been employed as a salesman for DeKalb Seed for 50 years. He attended Missionary Church, North Manchester, and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He attended Lagro High School.

He was born June 7, 1925, in Wabash County to Ernest and Amelia Rickert Wilcox. He married Norma Hoover on April 6, 1947. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Mark (Judy) Wilcox, of Silver Lake, Rodney (Jill) Wilcox, of North Manchester, and Scott (Kim) Wilcox, of Urbana; a daughter, Jane (Duane) Zentz, of Bourbon; three brothers, Garland Wilcox and Ernest Junior (Betty) Wilcox, both of North Manchester, and Joe (Mary Lou) Wilcox, of Urbana; a sister, Ruby Swihart, of Roann; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A service was held at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, on Saturday, March 7, 2009, with Rev. Dan Binkley officiating. Burial was at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
