Nile E. Girvin

Nile E. Girvin, 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, and formerly of Markle, IN, died Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Markle Health Care Center in Markle.

Mr. Girvin had been employed as an associate engineer with Magnavox Corporation for more than 34 years, retiring in 1987. He graduated from Markle High School and served with the United States Navy during World War II.

He was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Markle. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Girvin, of Fort Wayne.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Ardith L. (Richard) Kleindienst, of Riverside, CA, and Tracey L. (Walker) Powell, of Westerville, OH; three sisters, LouAnn (Herb) Best, Sue King and Carolyn Girvin, all of Markle; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A service was held Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the Markle Fish and Game Club or Animal Care and Control.
