Philip B. Cotton

Philip B. Cotton, 67, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Van Wert Community Hospital, in Van Wert, OH.   

Mr. Cotton graduated from Huntington High School in 1969. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Cotton Car Co.   He was a member of the VFW 2689, Kiwanis and the Friday Night Downtown Athletic Club.  He was also member of the United Brethren Church.  
   
He was born July 27, 1951, in Huntington to Robert and Marjorie Vollmar Cotton.  He married Sherry Smart on Dec. 1, 1972, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Chad P. (Anne-Marie) Cotton, of Bushnell, FL, and Benjamin B. (Sylwia) Cotton, of Solon, OH; a daughter, Andrea J. Cotton, of Fort Wayne; two brothers, James (Kathy) Cotton and Michael (Danna) Cotton, both of Huntington; two sisters, Sharon (Larry) Lawrence, of Huntington, and Cathy (Curt) Cooley, of Markle; and two granddaughters, Olivia Grace Cotton and Mayabella Hope Cotton.  

Calling is Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Well, 1883 Old US 24, Huntington. A memorial service will follow the calling at 4 p.m. at the church, with Rev. Josh Kesler officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at Marion National Cemetery, Marion.   

Memorials are to Union Church Youth Group, Life Church Youth Group or any other youth program of the donor’s choice in Huntington County, in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
